Elections are coming
This generation prides themselves on being free enough not to believe in any god, but they are wrong. They believe in something alright, they go to church, though it’s not a church of God. They worship at the alter, though it certainly not a holy alter.
The religion of this generation is self. We religiously attend our shopping centers, ready to tithe to the nearest brothel of quick fix. We devote themselves to the alter of flesh and self destruction every weekend in the bars. We believe in self, We believe in death and embrace darkness. And everyone knows it too. I remember once reading a magazine and seeing an ad for a radio station. It was an illustration of the inside of a church, at the alter was a statue of a b (for b fm, an Auckland station) and in the pews sat a whole bunch of young people. Smoking, drinking, taking drugs, kissing, pulling the fingers and basically letting the reader know that if it FEELS good then why not go ahead and do it. Reminds me of flatting.
If I say anything that sounds intelligent people stare at me blankly, if I even mention anything to do with Christianity I’m told that I am brainwashed and spewing dogma. I guess Jesus was told worse. I’m not complaining, please don’t take this as self pity because I know I got off lightly but I just don’t understand why its so bad to believe in God?? I mean seriously its like a less intense version of Hitler’s Germany, only without the genocide, but I’m sure some of the people I’ve had the pleasure of talking to wouldn’t bat an eyelid if old Helen decided to round up all the Jesus freaks and kill us. Everybody is following the status quo and allowing bad things to happen because one person says its necessary and if you attempt to speak out against the bad stuff, watch out!! Take the boobs on bikes thing, disgusting display of pornography that even the council didn’t want (I bet the judge was paid off by that gross guy). When a small group of anti-abuse protesters walked those streets giving voice to their concerns, they were booed and told they were being ridiculous, the general stance was that women whipping out their breasts was just a healthy expression of the human body and women’s sexual rights. A load of bull you’d expect from a non-Christian man, but I actually saw a women there with her toddler and laughing. Guess we know what kind of attitude that kid will have towards women. Ballet is a healthy expression of a women’s figure, what happened on Queen street was straight porn, do we really want our daughters growing up thinking its ok to flash every tom, dick and harry???
The underlying theme in human history has always been, never ever go against the grain. Keep up with the Jones’s and do not rock the boat. That’s why most great artists don’t become great till they’re dead, and why good people never get into parliament despite everyone always moaning about who they did vote for. When I hear non-Christians (and lets face it some Christians too) moaning about the way this country has been run I can barely suppress a snort. How does the saying go? You get what you pay for?
If New Zealand wanted a good leader we would’ve made sure that a good leader led…. Although you can understand how a non-Christian country could encourage and breed a generation of self serving nymphomaniacs with a liberal prime minister, but statistics New-Zealand says that over half this country associates themselves as Christians. Wait, what??? OVER HALF OF THIS COUNTRY BELIEVES THEY ARE CHRISTIAN. So where the heck have we been the last what, five or so years? Although there are a lot of really awesome Christians out there who have been fighting tooth and nail to spread a little Jesus love around and they do a wonderful job too. I’m not ranting at them so they can just go do something else right now like pray or something….. But for those of us who have been snoozing in our comfortable little, “I like my life” bubbles it’s time we stop letting someone else pick up the slack and do something.
ITS TIME FOR THAT OVER HALF OF NZ TO UNITE. Lets get someone awesome in parliament for once and represent the real voice of NZ. In case you were wondering, yes I’m shamelessly using this rant to support and back the Kiwi party. Now this is a party who can give us some hope in government back, if they are all they say they are. But don’t take my word for it, don’t run to the poll booths on election day and tick Kiwi party because the awesome (haha) Rheanna is voting for them, check out their web site and pray about it. All I know is that we have to do something and this may be the way to do it.

Ive got a blog YAY! I wont write much coz its late and I need some sleep. 
Today was good, I got the housewok done (all very exciting I can tell you!). Did some stuff on the net and then a co-editor of a magazine we’re doing for our church came and we discussed magazine things……. So all in all a good day
I was surfing the net and I was getting a little annoyed at the amount of people out there who attack Christianity even though they have a very base understanding on what its all about. Seriously now this is the 21st century right? Age of enlightenment and free speech? I mean, I have been a Christian and I have been a non-Christian so I know what life is like on both sides of the coin and I chose to go the whole Christian way for various reasons, believing in God just made more sense than not believing him. Someone please explain to me why believing in God is so offensive to the wider web??? Explain to me why its ok for one person to choose not to have a religion but its not ok for me to listen to my God???? People constantly accuse Christians of being hypocrites and idioits and the cause of all wars, but thats just not true! 1. We’re all human GET OVER IT 2. Most Christians are actually very smart, just because they focused their lives on spiritual matters does not make them stupid. In fact if you really take a good look around you the most logical conclusion a well educated mind can come to is that, there is a God! and 3. Greed, lust for power and the human desire to play gods is what has caused all wars to date. Leave God out of that one.babys got book
I dont know, we live in a very messed up world. It seems that despite the smorgasboard of religions and self help manules out there people are still running around like headless chickens waiting for a quick fix or a savior. If you ask me, it all comes down to personal responsibility, Christian or not if you want the world to change then you have to change first. Actually thats probably why most people hate Christianity, not because its an absurd myth but because most Christians well the ones I know atleast, are actually trying to do something about the mess humanity has created and all the lazy people out there dont like seeing change because it may mean their comftable little lives will have to adjust……… Or maybe not.
I dont know, Im off to bed.
